Link In Bios

Are they still in or officially out?

Okay, this might be more of a biased opinion but let's talk about Link in bios.

If you are not familiar with what a link in bio is- it's a link on your social media profile (Instagram, X, TikTok, etc.) that takes browsers to a condensed landing page. This landing page usually monetized for mobile friendly experience provides a quick highlight of your business with quick links to your most important items from your website for faster engagement and to build new followers.

This became huge in 2016 and even more popular in 2020 but we don't see or hear about link in bios as much today. So are they completely out for good?

No.

Here's my take on it. A link in bio may not be as popular as it once was but it is still a crucial marketing piece to your business.

Though we are starting to see algorithm encourage social media users to start “comment (insert word) below” strategy, one thing is true people still go to people’s bio to learn more about the account so what will be the first thing they see? That’s right. Their link in bio information. That’s if they have one.

Which is why I answer no because people will still go to your profit to discover who you are and if what you have or offer what they want or need.

To conclude link in bios are not out and are still very much in. To add to this I have seen a variety of apps and websites build their own link in bios forms and templates to get you to set up your link in bio using their app. And to name a few like linktr.ee, Canva, milkshake, and websites a like Squarespace, Wix, and so many more they’ve stepped up their game to ensure you have a variety of templates to select from.

But here’s the thing with these great apps, I feel like I need to mention this because I have tried just about every app and though they were great and some even more flexible in design options and easy management I found I was missing one thing. Consistent connection.

These had all the best intentions to my success but they did not give me the ability to stay connected with those who visited and engaged with my content. I need something that could provide flexible design, real time analytics, can connect with my website, and capture new subscribers I could easily connect with.

That’s when I found Flodesk.

I can’t say it’s been a game changer for me because I just recently launched my link in bio so time will tell and I will have to make an updated blog about it, but what caught my attention and encouraged me to set up through them was because of everything I mentioned above.

I was already using Flodesk to build signup forms which they made it easy to connect to my Squarespace website but when they launched this new section on their site I figured what do I have to lose? I already use them so we shall see how it goes. I have read some great benefits and have already started seeing just a bit of conversion.

What I’m looking forward to is seeing my analytics for my website, email marketing, and social media traffic all in one area, the ability for my audience to have the same experience on website and link in bio because they have brand consistency with one another and lastly to not have to flow back in forth between apps and add new groups or segments because Flodesk will do that for me so that is a huge time saver!
